Wolfe Research raises Union Pacific stock price target on improving rail fundamentals

Wolfe Research has increased its price target for Union Pacific (NYSE:UNP) stock to $309 from $291, maintaining an Outperform rating, citing improving rail fundamentals. The firm also raised its 2026-2027 earnings per share estimates for the railroad operator by 1%-2%, now standing 2% and 4% above consensus for the next two years. This upgrade follows Union Pacific’s strong first-quarter 2026 earnings, which surpassed analyst expectations in both EPS and revenue.
