CryptoWorld News reports that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) is once again participating in global regulatory efforts, working hand-in-hand with securities regulators around the world to combat illegal activities by financial internet celebrities. Hong Kong SFC CEO and Chair of the Asia-Pacific Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Lisa Fong Yim stated that as financial promotions become increasingly common on social media, regulators worldwide must collaborate to protect investors from illegal financial promotions and to create a fair online environment. The SFC is committed to supporting this global initiative as part of efforts to address online scams that often cross jurisdictional boundaries.
