Federal Reserve's Williams downplays WASH nomination deadlock: Confirmation timeline uncertain
ME News Report, April 7 (UTC+8), there is uncertainty regarding the timetable for Kevin Waugh’s confirmation as Federal Reserve Chair, due to major Republican senators opposing the advancement of his nomination while the current Chair Powell remains under investigation. New York Federal Reserve President and Federal Reserve Policy Committee Vice Chair Williams stated that this uncertainty is not an issue for the Federal Reserve. The Federal Open Market Committee voted earlier this year to have Powell serve as Chair of the Policy Committee, and before Waugh’s confirmation, Powell can continue to hold this position.
