Giancarlo Lelli cracks 15-bit ECC key, wins 1 BTC prize

Independent researcher Giancarlo Lelli cracked a 15-bit ECC key in Project Eleven’s challenge and received a 1 Bitcoin Q-Day Prize. Project Eleven said the feat was 512 times harder than the 6-bit key record set in September 2025. Alex Pruden said about 6.9 million Bitcoins are held in vulnerable static addresses.
