Today I was once again fooled by "on-chain real-time"… I was watching the transaction spin on my mobile wallet, and it took about 12 seconds before it suddenly popped up as successful. Thinking about it later, it’s not really the chain’s fault; nodes/RPCs are like the microphone for my cat—some transmit quickly, others are dozing off on the way; plus, the indexer has to organize the data, so the "on-chain status" you see is actually a paraphrased version. In plain terms, what you see is the on-chain data someone else has already looked at for you.
So sometimes you think the transaction didn’t go through or didn’t transfer, but actually it’s just that the route you’re connected to is a bit slow… I’m now doing small test transfers of 0.3 USDT to keep my mental state intact. By the way, I’ve been thinking about the recent NFT royalty disputes: creators say their income has dropped, traders say they need liquidity… But no matter which side you’re on, data delays make everyone more likely to accuse each other of “look, the on-chain data clearly shows this or that.” Anyway, I’ll switch to a different RPC first and wait a bit.
