Coinbase Launches GBP Stablecoin tGBP

On April 22, according to an official announcement, Coinbase announced that it will launch the fiat-backed stablecoin tGBP starting April 22, 2026. Users will be able to buy, sell, exchange, send, and receive tGBP through the Coinbase App and Coinbase Exchange. The issuer of tGBP, BCP Technologies, is registered with the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is participating in the FCA’s regulatory sandbox.
