On April 24, according to Al Jazeera, former US ambassador to Bahrain Adam Ereli commented on Iran’s resilience in the face of US and Israeli attacks: “The Iranian Revolutionary Guard possesses ‘revolutionary zeal,’ which means they are capable of surviving. Iran’s capacity to endure suffering is much longer than most American policymakers have calculated. It is unclear how long Tehran can withstand the ‘siege’ imposed by the US, but it is likely to be much longer than the US expects, especially regarding yielding to the Americans. They have a sense of pride and survival; for them, this is a life-and-death struggle. They must survive. For us, this is a war of choice. We could withdraw tomorrow, and the US would be just fine. But for Iran, this is a ‘fight for survival.’” (Jinshi)
