On April 26, further details about Cole Thomas Allen, the gunman at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, were revealed. Allen is 31 years old, from Torrance, California, with no criminal record, not under law enforcement surveillance, preliminarily identified as a "lone wolf" attacker. He graduated in 2017 from the California Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and in 2025 earned a master's degree in computer science from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
