According to monitoring by Dongcha Beating, the open-source AI content summarization tool Summarize has officially released version 0.14.0. This update introduces the GPT-5.5 Fast mode (quickly invoked via the --fast parameter), browser extension support for extracting complete Reddit threads, direct extraction functionality for local PDF files using --extract, as well as automatic model configuration and compatibility fixes for Meta (Facebook/Instagram) websites. Summarize is a lightweight open-source tool that supports command-line CLI and Chrome sidebar extensions, allowing users to extract concise summaries from web pages, YouTube, PDFs, podcasts, and more with a single click. It is compatible with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and local models. The new version further enhances speed, offline capabilities, and site compatibility, making it suitable for users who need to quickly digest lengthy content.
