Xpeng responds to the breakdown of exclusive dealership partnership in Australia
Recently, TrueEV, the exclusive agent of XPeng in Australia, has entered a receivership (bankruptcy administration) process, drawing attention. In response to Yicai, XPeng said that during the past two years of cooperation, it learned through multiple channels that TrueEV had suffered a break in its capital chain and had been taken over by the financing party, and that this continued for more than a year without purchasing vehicles, while also failing to fulfill order obligations, including an order for 454 vehicles. TrueEV also had a public commercial dispute with local dealers, severely damaging the basis of trust between both sides.
Therefore, in accordance with the cooperation agreement, XPeng formally issued a notice of default to TrueEV, terminating its exclusive agency qualification while retaining its status/qualification as an agent. TrueEV denied the above operational problems and instead, through legal proceedings, brought claims against XPeng. On April 1, a local Australian court dismissed its related injunction application.
XPeng’s next goal is to, over the next three years, build XPeng in Australia into a technology brand that is not only leading in technology, but also trustworthy in terms of user experience. At the current stage, XPeng is quickly and orderly building its sales and service network—especially with dealer partners that have been deeply rooted locally for many years and treat user experience as the top priority—while immediately rolling out a localized accessories supply system, a logistics distribution system, and a technical support system.
