In response to Trump’s statement about extending the ceasefire deadline, Iran’s state television announced early on April 22 local time that Iran has become the victor on the battlefield. Controlling the Strait of Hormuz is a highly valuable bargaining chip Iran has gained in this war. Iran agrees to a suspension of military combat, but the war is not over yet. Meanwhile, Iran’s state television also pointed out that Iran must be vigilant against any remarks implying that Iran must participate in negotiations, or else the enemy will attack Iran. Even if the maritime blockade is lifted, Iran’s participation in negotiations must be conditional on not raising any issues that infringe on Iran’s independence and dignity, with the primary concerns being Iran’s defense and missile capabilities, as well as nuclear capabilities and technology. Iran’s state television emphasized that Iran’s uranium enrichment and its level, whether the enriched uranium is diluted or not, and the ownership of enriched uranium are all internal affairs of Iran, and enemies should have no interference in these matters.
