Paul Barron, veteran tech and crypto commentator, posted an intriguing message on April 24, stating that he expects big news from Ripple next week. He quoted Ripple’s cryptic message, saying “Next Monday. Las Vegas. XRP.”
The XRP community quickly took notice of XRP Las Vegas 2026, scheduled for April 30 to May 1 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse will attend alongside executives from across the crypto and financial industry.
A Busy Month for Ripple and XRP
Ripple has had a productive April. On April 20, the company published a four-phase roadmap to make the XRP Ledger quantum-resistant by 2028. The plan positions XRPL ahead of both Bitcoin and Ethereum on this timeline.
It involves a full assessment of quantum vulnerabilities across the network and testing of post-quantum cryptography defenses recommended by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
On April 23, GraniteShares launched two new ETFs on Nasdaq: a 3x Long XRP Daily ETF and a 3x Short XRP Daily ETF. These products follow the successful launch of spot XRP ETFs in late 2025, which collectively gathered over $1.3 billion.
Integrations Expanding Across Platforms
XRP is extending its reach across financial and DeFi platforms. Wrapped XRP (wXRP) also launched on Solana. Over $1.2 million wXRP tokens have been minted on Solana, giving XRP holders direct access to DeFi yield, swaps, and lending.
In Japan, Rakuten Wallet added XRP for spot trading on April 15, connecting the token to one of Japan’s largest loyalty and payments ecosystems.
What to Watch
XRP currently trades at approximately $1.42, up over 6% in the past two weeks. Traders are watching $1.5 as the key resistance level for a confirmed trend shift, and a big announcement could push XRP over this level.
Ripple confirmed its flagship Swell 2026 conference will return to New York from October 27 to 29. For the first time, Ripple will combine Swell with its XRPL Apex developer summit, bringing institutional finance and blockchain builders into the same program.
With Las Vegas days away, the XRP ecosystem enters the conference week with fresh integrations, new financial products, and a technical roadmap that extends well into 2028. Barron’s post suggests that an even bigger announcement is on the horizon, and many in the community share this view.
