Trump says peace talks could restart as early as the 24th; Iran denies
Golden Finance reports that on April 23, according to CCTV, the scheduled temporary ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran ended on the evening of the 22nd Eastern Time, and the morning of the 23rd Beijing Time. However, the new round of negotiations planned between the U.S. and Iran has been difficult to advance. On the evening of the 21st, Iran officially refused to attend the second round of talks originally scheduled to be held in Pakistan on the 22nd. On the same day, Trump stated that he agreed to extend the ceasefire with Iran but would continue to impose a maritime blockade on Iran and maintain a state of readiness for war. On the 22nd local time, Trump said that the earliest possible date to restart a new round of U.S.-Iran talks could be the 24th, and he stated that there is currently “no timetable” for ending the conflict with Iran.
